Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa....Where To Volunteer?

South Africa

South Africa is a rewarding place to volunteer. It has struggled to recover from the many changes that have developed in the last 20 years and many people live on less than a dollar a day. While townships have started to improve, poverty is still widespread. If you're an international volunteer in South Africa you will have the opportunity to provide the underprivileged population access to better education and healthcare. Fight for human rights and help build a working infrastructure!

South Africa, one of the most multicultural countries in the world, is impossible to generalize. In addition to the indigenous black peoples of South Africa, colonialism and immigration have brought in white Europeans, Indians, Indo-Malays, Chinese and many more. Home to captivating landscapes, exotic animals, sophisticated cities, world-renowned vineyards, famous townships and delicious cuisine, South Africa is a truly fascinating country. The difficulties South Africa has faced make it a rewarding place to volunteer.

malawi boatsDescribed as 'the warm heart of Africa', Malawi is one of the most vibrant, laid-back, easy countries to travel in, with hidden secrets of true African wilderness. Malawi is a great Africa volunteer destination with beautiful scenery, rich culture and some of the world's happiest and friendliest people. High-end tourism is only in small numbers, but Malawi has been stumbled upon by passing backpackers and many stay much longer than anticipated, often returning over and over again because they love it.

It's hard to put into words why it's such a special country, why its vibe is so brilliant but as those volunteering in Malawi will find out, it has a lot to do with the varied landscapes, stunning lake, abundance of wildlife and friendly fun locals. There's much more to Malawi than its well-known lake, incredible snorkeling, white sand beaches, tranquil bays, relaxing days on the beach and in bars. This Africa volunteer destination also has rolling plateaus, five national parks and four game reserves covering spectacularly varying terrain and inhabiting most of the wildlife you see on the African documentaries. It is however, also one of the poorest countries in Africa and volunteers will understand how welcome their efforts are.

Kilimanjaro or go on safari in the Serengeti or the famous and expansive Ngorongoro crater.

Zimbabwe, located between two rivers in southern Africa, is an amazing destination for any kind of volunteer trip! Full of cultural wonders you won't find anywhere else, Zimbabwe offers the opportunity to learn and give back at the same time.
There are an endless number of reasons to consider volunteering in Zimbabwe. From its natural wonders to its vibrant culture, you will fall in love with Zimbabwe and all it has to offer.
