Where should I start? After being told by a friend that with Khaya you can volunteer in an affordable way I took the big step as my gap year and came to South Africa for 5 months.


Working in the childrens home and creches of Walmer Township and seeing and meeting so many people who have little and still smile everyday has made me think many times. i think this volunteer period has changed my ways of looking at wealth and poverty and realize I am very fortunate.

Living with other volunteers, the outings and tours; all of it made my stay in South Africa unforgettable.
